The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. The intern will work closely with the data and operations team to run in-depth analyses, uncover actionable insights, and help stakeholders make informed decisions. This is a fast-paced environment where data is often messy and unstructured, so strong analytical skills and a solid technical toolkit are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Extract, clean, and transform unstructured data into usable formats.

Conduct in-depth research and analysis to answer complex policy questions.

Create clear, compelling data visualizations that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Maintain high standards of data and code quality to ensure work is reproducible.

Produce clear, concise reports for stakeholders and present findings in an accessible way.

Document data sources, methods, and code thoroughly.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
- Experience building data visualizations in R or Python using libraries such as ggplot2, matplotlib, seaborn, or plotly.
- Experience working with messy or unstructured data.
- Ability to maintain data quality and translate technical findings into clear, concise reports.
- Experience working with APIs and web scraping tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
