ITO Quality Manager – Central Europe (all genders)
Quality isn't a checkpoint at GE Vernova — it's built into how we work from the very first conversation with a customer. As ITO (Inquiry to Order) Quality Manager, you will shape how quality is embedded at the earliest stages of our HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and ACS (Alternating Current System) projects, before a single component is ordered or a site is mobilized. Your work will directly influence project profitability, customer trust, and our ability to deliver reliable grid solutions at scale.
About the Role
This is an individual contributor role operating at a senior specialist level within GE Vernova's Grid Solutions business. You will partner with regional commercial, engineering, and project teams to drive quality culture, risk identification, and continuous improvement across the ITO value stream. You serve as the primary quality interface for all commercial operations activity — from early tender development through to project handover — ensuring that what we commit to customers reflects what we can deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed quality at the tender stage — serve as the primary quality interface for the ITO team on HVDC and ACS projects, identifying quality risks early in project design and ensuring mitigation plans are incorporated into proposals before submission.
- Drive Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) reduction — establish and maintain systems to track and categorize ITO-phase quality issues (including bid modifications, technical design changes, and clarifications), and provide data-driven insights to leadership on how early-stage quality decisions affect project profitability.
- Own the Problem Solving Report (PSR) process — initiate and lead structured problem-solving sessions (including 8D and Root Cause Analysis methodologies) to address systemic quality gaps, tracking corrective actions through to verified completion.
- Manage quality KPIs and audit activity — maintain a centralized dashboard covering Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Lessons Learned, audit outcomes, customer complaints, and customer survey results; execute internal audits to ensure alignment with GE Vernova's quality management system.
- Facilitate Lessons Learned and continuous improvement — lead post-ITO workshops to capture and apply technical and process learnings, manage the Read Across process, and work with function leaders to build a culture where quality issues are surfaced and resolved — not passed on.
- Partner across the commercial organization — work closely with commercial, engineering, and regional function teams to align technical specifications with GE Vernova global grid solution standards and ensure customer quality requirements are captured and carried through to execution.
Who We're Looking For
You are a quality professional who is equally comfortable with structured problem-solving methodology and cross-functional collaboration. You understand how decisions made during tendering create — or prevent — problems downstream, and you bring both the analytical rigor and the interpersonal credibility to influence outcomes before they become issues.
Required
- A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements in quality management.
- Proven experience in a quality role, with demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems, structured problem-solving methods (8D, RCA), and KPI tracking.
- Strong analytical capability — you can translate quality data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- A continuous improvement orientation with the ability to implement procedures, monitor compliance, and bring others along in the process.
- A visible commitment to Safety, Quality, and Compliance as foundational ways of working.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies and principles.
- Proficiency in digital tools including Tableau, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
