GDIT is seeking an IT Inventory and Warehouse Manager to strengthen the operational bridge between our physical warehouse activities and the full IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle. This role is an individual contributor—not a people manager—but is central to ensuring that all ITAM lifecycle operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with complete asset accountability.
The selected candidate will work onsite within our warehouse environment and serve as the connective link between physical asset handling and system‑of‑record accuracy. In this role, you will ensure that receiving, inventory control, preparation, staging, deployment, returns, redeployment, and disposition function as one integrated, end‑to‑end process. By aligning physical workflows with ServiceNow HAM records, this position directly reduces inventory discrepancies, incomplete lifecycle transactions, avoidable purchases, shipping errors, staging delays, and gaps between warehouse execution and ITAM data quality.
As an IT Inventory & Warehouse Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will support our enterprise operations and the customers we serve. You will lead ITAM personnel at the central warehouse, coordinate stockroom operations across multiple GDIT sites, and ensure remote and onsite users receive the equipment they need. You will connect daily warehouse activities with IT asset lifecycle controls so every asset movement is accurate, secure, timely, and reflected in ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM).
· Lead warehouse-based ITAM personnel through daily priorities, staffing coverage, coaching, cross-training, performance expectations, and escalation management
· Manage receiving, inspection, tagging, put-away, bin and rack storage, picking, preparation, staging, packing, shipping, and onsite handoffs. Validate quantities, models, condition, serial numbers, and asset tags against purchase orders and advance shipping notices
· Oversee laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, network equipment, audio and video equipment, technical cables, and accessories. Maintain inventory availability, appropriate stock levels, and deployment readiness across the central warehouse and supported stockrooms
· Collaborate with endpoint, field support, service desk, security, procurement, suppliers, and carriers to confirm configuration, accessories, user or site assignments, shipping information, and release requirements before equipment leaves the warehouse
· Maintain accurate asset records, lifecycle states, locations, assignments, and custody histories. Direct cycle counts and physical inventories, investigate discrepancies, and ensure inventory adjustments follow approved review processes
· Manage transfers, returns, and equipment recovery for remote and onsite users. Ensure traceability through shipment and destination acceptance, then route returned assets for evaluation, repair, approved data sanitization, redeployment, legal hold, or disposition
· Protect sensitive, high-value, and data-bearing equipment through secure storage, safe handling, documented chain of custody, and asset-level sanitization and disposition records. Maintain evidence to support audits
· Use ServiceNow HAM, barcode or mobile scanning, and operational dashboards to connect physical activity with asset records. Partner with ServiceNow administrators and Configuration Management to resolve data and workflow issues through approved processes
· Drive measurable improvements in inventory accuracy, receiving and deployment turnaround, stock availability, returns, shipping accuracy, and disposition. Address root causes, improve warehouse capacity and work queues, and reduce avoidable purchases and delays
The IT Inventory & Warehouse Manager must have:
· Education: Minimum of a High School diploma required with 9+ years of IT asset management OR a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of combined warehouse, logistics, inventory management, or IT asset management experience
· Experience: 3+ years directing operations in a warehouse, ITAM, logistics, or technology fulfillment environment
· Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, multi-location stockrooms, and the IT asset lifecycle, including how physical asset movements align with system-of-record updates
- Experience with ITAM, warehouse management, or inventory platforms; barcode or mobile scanning; inventory reconciliation; and operational reporting
· Leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to coach personnel, coordinate technical teams and vendors, communicate with customers, support audits, protect sensitive equipment, and lead measurable process improvements
· Role requirements:
- Daily onsite work at the central warehouse in Vienna, Virginia
- On the rare occasion, there might be future requirements to work during a weekend
- Willingness to travel to supported GDIT sites as required
- US Person
Preferred, but not required qualifications:
· ServiceNow HAM or HAM Pro experience with receiving, stockrooms, asset creation, transfer orders, lifecycle states, deployment and return workflows, mobile scanning, audits, and reporting.
· Familiarity with CMDB relationships and relevant ServiceNow HAM certification are a plus
· Experience supporting a government contractor, distributed IT fulfillment, endpoint deployment teams, and secure equipment recovery. Relevant ITAM, supply chain, logistics, Lean, or continuous improvement training is a plus
· Familiarity with ITAM governance, GS1 identification and traceability, NIST media sanitization guidance, electrostatic discharge controls, warehouse safety requirements, and responsible electronics reuse and recycling
