Internship in Human-Computer Interaction and Eye Tracking (f/m/x)

On-site Oberkochen, Germany full time

At ZEISS Corporate Research, we explore how people will interact with future technologies. As part of our interdisciplinary team of scientists and research engineers, you will work on next-generation interaction concepts involving eye tracking, novel user interfaces, advanced sensors, and emerging hardware platforms.Together, we develop and evaluate technologies that can influence future ZEISS products in medical technology, industry, and beyond.

Your Role

You will contribute to research projects focused on future interactive systems and eye-tracking technologies. Depending on your interests and skills, your tasks may include:

  • Designing and implementing novel human-computer interaction concepts
  • Developing prototypes using modern hardware, sensors, and software tools
  • Exploring eye-tracking-based interaction techniques and user interfaces
  • Conducting user studies and evaluating interaction concepts
  • Analyzing interaction data and deriving insights for system improvement

Your Profile
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Electrical Engineering, Media Informatics, or a related field
  • Enjoy building prototypes, experimenting with new technologies, and turning ideas into working systems
  • Solid programming skills, for example in Python, C++, C#, or a similar language
  • Experience or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas: Human-Computer Interaction, eye tracking, UX, sensors and hardware prototyping, computer vision, XR or spatial computing, user studies, or data analysis
  • Proactive, curious, and passionate about solving challenging problems
  • Effective communication in English; German is a plus
