Purpose of Job

The Integration Manager ensures that long-, medium- and short-term mine plans are aligned, executable and translated into coordinated operational schedules. The role integrates production, maintenance and outsourced services to improve schedule compliance, manage execution risks and support the safe, cost-effective achievement of mine performance targets.

The role also provides independent planning assurance, supports Production Services interventions, evaluates system health and drives the continuous improvement and governance of planning processes across the mine.

Key Accountabilities

Key Outcomes

  • Integrated planning horizons that are aligned to the life-of-mine and development plans.
  • Practical, adequately resourced and execution-ready 12-week and 2-week schedules.
  • Improved schedule compliance, plan stability and recovery from incomplete work.
  • Early identification and mitigation of planning constraints and execution risks.
  • Effective cross-functional prioritisation and accountability for agreed commitments.
  • Sustainable Integrated Operations and Siyenza systems, processes and governance.

1. Integrated Planning and Scheduling

  • Lead the integration of long-, medium- and short-term planning across the colliery, with particular focus on the Production Services shaft and its support to the production process.
  • Coordinate the development of the integrated 2-week work breakdown structure (WBS) plan from the approved 12-week WBS plan.
  • Synchronise the 2-week and 12-week plans with the direction agreed at the monthly planning meeting and with the mine development schedule and life-of-mine plan.
  • Confirm that planned work is practical, adequately scoped, appropriately sequenced, resourced and ready for execution.
  • Maintain an appropriate planning focus across WBS governance, 2-week execution planning and 12-week planning. Where the existing 10%/60%/30% allocation is formally required, apply it as the agreed planning emphasis.

2. Execution Readiness and Schedule Assurance

  • Assure the quality and executability of integrated schedules before work is committed for execution.
  • Monitor schedule compliance, identify deviations and coordinate timely recovery actions with accountable stakeholders.
  • Identify critical backlog and incomplete work blocks, assess their impact and ensure that they are reprioritised or rescheduled through the appropriate governance process.
  • Support Production Services in planning interventions and evaluating and mitigating execution risks.
  • Evaluate system health and planning discipline to support sustainable operational performance.

3. Prioritisation, Risk and Decision Support

  • Act as the mine's central coordination point for integrated planning across production, maintenance and outsourced service support.
  • Facilitate impartial prioritisation, make trade-offs visible and support timely decisions that protect the overall plan.
  • Advise shaft and colliery working groups and management teams on planning risks, schedule compliance and threats to the achievement of operational objectives.
  • Escalate unresolved conflicts, capacity constraints and material execution risks to the appropriate decision-making forum.
  • Track agreed actions and hold accountable stakeholders to planning commitments and recovery plans.

4. Stakeholder Integration and Capacity Assurance

  • Coordinate with the Colliery Operations Centre and other departments on the colliery to maintain alignment, resolve planning conflicts and support clear communication.
  • Collaborate with other Integration Managers and the Central Integration Manager to assure capacity, manage dependencies and improve planning consistency across operations.
  • Integrate the requirements and constraints of production, engineering, maintenance, planning, Production Services and outsourced service providers.
  • Promote an enterprise-wide perspective and prevent functional priorities from undermining the overall mine plan.

  • Challenge the quality of plans constructively and promote consistent planning standards across all participating functions.

6. Managerial scope

  • The position is responsible for the Colliery Operations Centre, running a 24/7 operation
  • The COC includes the following sub departments at two shafts (Irenedale and main shaft):

  • Require clarification or rework where schedules are not sufficiently scoped, resourced or executable.
  • Escalate unresolved priority conflicts, material risks and capacity gaps to the relevant management forum.
  • Provide independent assurance and advice to management; formal operational approvals remain with the designated accountable managers unless specifically delegated.

  • Communicate trade-offs, risks and required decisions clearly and at the appropriate level.
  • Act as a credible advisor to management teams and demonstrate dependable follow-through.

Relationships, Teamwork and Collaboration

Use these relationships to resolve dependencies, reduce functional silos, improve plan quality and strengthen coordinated execution.
