Objectives:
Indirect Procurement (IP) is a Finance function dealing with the purchases of goods and services not directly involved in product manufacturing like raw materials. Its scope covers Marketing & Communication, Fashion Boutique and Point of Sales Maintenance & Construction, Logistics & Transportation, Human Resources, General Services, Professional Services, Travel & Events, Marketing & Trade Marketing, IT & Telecom, Property & Facilities. The role includes leadership responsibility, contributing to Team Development, Change Management and the successful delivery of cross-functional transformation projects. This is not a transactional buying role. It is a market-building and transformation leadership mandate, accountable for establishing procurement as a structured, risk-controlled, digitally enabled and value-creating function that actively supports the company’s growth ambitions. The role reports to local CFO and the Regional Head of Indirect Procurement Swiss Market Region who leads the Regional Procurement Strategy across all categories, ensures alignment with global objectives, and orchestrates the regional and local IP community. Within this framework, the IP Manager for Mexico acts as the market owner, with full accountability for structuring, governing and elevating the procurement capability across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Activities
Governance and Function Development
- Design, implement and ensure compliance with Indirect Procurement policies, processes and approval frameworks.
- Contribute to the deployment and continuous improvement of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) model in collaboration with Finance and IT.
- Define and execute the Indirect Procurement roadmap for the Mexican market, aligned with business priorities and global guidelines.
- Monitor performance through KPIs, savings tracking and executive-level reporting.
- Ensure full adoption and effective use of the COUPA procurement platform.
Market Intelligence, Strategic Sourcing & Business Partnership
- Map the supplier ecosystem and identify strategic partners and provide forward-looking market intelligence and risk anticipation.
- Support business expansion through local sourcing capabilities.
- Act as a trusted procurement partner to business stakeholders, supporting supplier selection through competitive sourcing processes (RFPs, cost analysis, negotiations).
- Lead sourcing projects across all Indirect Procurement categories.
- Coordinate closely with Legal (internal and external) on contractual frameworks and negotiations.
Spending, Value & Project Management
- Analyze supplier spending using financial and reporting tools.
- Ensure accurate spending categorization and budget discipline.
- Identify and deliver cost optimization, cost avoidance and value creation initiatives.
- Lead procurement-related projects end-to-end, from opportunity identification through implementation and benefits tracking.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
Supplier Risk & Performance Management
- Lead supplier compliance, due diligence and risk assessment processes.
- Manage supplier onboarding in collaboration with Finance.
- Monitor supplier performance through structured reviews, KPIs and reporting.
- Coordinate supplier audits and oversee corrective action plans with business stakeholders.
Procurement Culture, Leadership & Change Management
- Raise standards of discipline and data-driven decision-making.
- Act as the local ambassador of the global procurement vision.
- Coach stakeholders on procurement best practices.
- Embed a strong procurement mindset within the market.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Combines strategy with hands-on delivery.
- Challenges the status quo and drives change.
- Influences senior stakeholders with credibility and facts.
- Actively support change management initiatives related to procurement transformation, new tools, processes or organizational evolutions.
- Promote agility, adaptability and a solution-oriented mindset within the team and across stakeholders.
Sustainability & ESG
- Integrate ESG criteria into sourcing strategies and supplier evaluations.
- Support the collection of supplier data related to carbon footprint and sustainability reporting.
- Ensure suppliers have the capability to provide required ESG information or identify appropriate alternatives.
What are we looking for?
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- 6 to 8 years of previous experience in Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Procurement Consulting.
- Prior exposure to people management, team coordination or project leadership preferred.
- Experience within Retail, Luxury, FMCG or customer-centric environments is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement transformation and cost optimization initiatives.
