Job Title: HR Operations Generalist
Location: Mexico City (Hybrid, 2 days in office)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced HR Operations Generalist to join BSI’s People team in Mexico City.
This is a hands-on HR operations role with responsibility across the full employee lifecycle, including offers and employment documentation, onboarding, employee changes, payroll and benefits support, employee relations, and offboarding.
We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of Mexican employment law who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day HR matters. You will be a key point of contact for employees and managers in Mexico, so confidence, sound judgement and the ability to navigate sensitive or challenging situations are important.
You will also work closely with our Employee Relations and wider People teams on more complex ER matters. You will have support when dealing with these situations, but we are looking for someone who can confidently gather information, understand the issue, apply local employment requirements, prepare documentation and help move cases forward.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a broad foundation in HR and is looking for a role where they can take greater ownership while working as part of an international People team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, including offers, new hire documentation, onboarding, employee changes and offboarding.
- Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, HR letters and other employee documentation accurately and in line with Mexican employment requirements.
- Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure new hire paperwork, systems and stakeholder actions are completed on time.
- Provide first-line HR support to employees and managers, confidently managing queries and determining when escalation or specialist support is required.
- Support employee relations activity by gathering information, preparing documentation, coordinating processes and working closely with ER and People colleagues on sensitive or challenging cases.
- Apply knowledge of Mexican employment law and internal policies when supporting day-to-day HR activities.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within HR systems.
- Support payroll and benefits administration, ensuring employee data is accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Coordinate with Payroll, IT, Facilities and other internal teams throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation and the overall employee experience.
- Support wider People projects and operational initiatives as required.
What we’re looking for Essential:
- Previous experience in an HR Administrator, HR Operations, HR Coordinator or HR Generalist environment, with hands-on responsibility across the employee lifecycle.
- Practical working knowledge of Mexican employment law and local HR requirements.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters, including sensitive or challenging employee situations.
- Experience preparing offer letters, employment documentation and new hire paperwork and coordinating onboarding and offboarding.
- Confidence working independently, taking ownership of day-to-day HR activities and knowing when an issue requires escalation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work directly with employees, managers and HR stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a changing, fast-paced and international environment.
- Strong business English and Spanish language skills.
Highly desirable
- Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration.
- Experience using HRIS, case management or workflow/ticketing systems.
- Experience working within an international or matrix organisation.
- HR-related qualification or relevant professional training.
BSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied job in an international environment, flexible working hours, and ongoing training and development.
