Head of Supply & Network Planning
About the role
We are looking for a Head of Supply & Network Planning to join our global Supply Chain organization.
Reporting to the VP Supply Chain, this is a global leadership role responsible for end-to-end supply and network planning, including supply and capacity planning, material availability, inventory management and the integration of demand and supply across our global network. Transformation is a key part of the mandate. Our future planning organization and operating model continue to evolve, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to shape, build and develop the global planning function and define how we operate going forward.
Key responsibilities
- Own global production quantity decisions by plant and inventory deployment by location, balancing service levels with working-capital efficiency across three regional distribution hubs.
- Lead Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and inter-hub deployment planning, providing clear volume commitments to regional execution teams.
- Define capacity allocation under constraints, inventory policies and network-planning methodologies; monitor schedule adherence, inventory entitlement and expedited freight.
- Drive planning digitalization and continuous improvement through SAP/SAP APO/S4, o9 and other advanced planning tools.
- Support effective S&OP through clear integration of demand, supply, capacity and inventory planning, enabling fact-based trade-offs and decision-making.
- Support the evolution and transformation of the global planning function, helping to define and implement the future target operating model, processes and ways of working.
- Govern global material availability, replenishment standards and PFEP principles; promote pull-based replenishment, including Kanban, and reduce inactive, obsolete and surplus inventory.
- Lead and develop global planning teams, strengthen collaboration between Demand and Supply Planning, and align with Operations, Procurement, Finance, Sales and IT.
- Represent global planning in senior forums, communicating risks, constraints and recommendations clearly.
About you
To succeed in this role, you combine deep end-to-end planning expertise with strategic thinking, strong analytical judgment and the ability to align global stakeholders around clear priorities. You lead through complexity and turn planning strategy into reliable execution and measurable business outcomes.
You are equally comfortable shaping the strategic direction of the function and working hands-on when required, particularly as the organization and operating model evolve. You bring the energy, presence and listening skills needed to lead through transformation and are motivated by the opportunity to build and develop a function rather than inherit an established setup.
Ideally, you bring:
- 10–15 years’ experience in end-to-end supply and network planning, with strong technical expertise across MPS, capacity planning, inventory and material management, and a strong understanding of S&OP and integrated planning.
- Expertise in demand forecasting, inventory policy and material management, including pull-based replenishment approaches such as Kanban and PFEP.
- Strong experience with planning digitalization and advanced planning systems, ideally including SAP/S4HANA, SAP APO, o9 or comparable platforms.
- Proven experience leading and transforming a planning function in a complex global organization, including shaping operating models, processes and capabilities.
- Strong leadership experience in an international, matrix environment, with the ability to align and influence stakeholders across functions, regions and cultures.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, pragmatic approach, with strong business acumen, ownership and accountability, particularly while the future planning organization and operating model are being shaped.
- A high-energy and driven leadership style, combined with strong listening skills, sound judgment and the ability to operate effectively through ambiguity and change.
- A relevant university degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field; APICS CPIM/CSCP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
