Position: General Manager - Wellness

Work Location: Marlborough, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. What you will be doing:

The General Manager of Wellness (GM) owns global innovation and the three-to-five-year strategy for the $600M+ global Wellness portfolio, encompassing four iconic brands: Honeywell, Vicks, PUR, and Braun. The GM translates that global roadmap into activation and execution in the U.S. market, including delivery of the U.S. Wellness P&L, revenue growth, profitability, market share, and brand equity. In partnership with the International President, the GM defines the global roadmap that enables delivery of the international P&L. Regional sales teams retain accountability for execution and financial delivery in their respective markets. The role offers the opportunity to lead one of Helen of Troy’s largest businesses during a period of portfolio evolution, innovation acceleration, and operating model transformation.

The GM leads three direct reports (VP, Global Innovation; VP, U.S. Marketing; and VP, U.S. Sales) and partners with other functions, such as Engineering, Finance, HR, and Operations, in a matrixed, collaborative model. The GM sets global innovation priorities and the three-to-five-year Wellness strategy, drives activation and execution in the U.S. market, and partners with the International President to translate the global roadmap into international market plans and P&L delivery.

Key Accountabilities

Global Wellness Strategy Partnership & Portfolio Stewardship

  • Own global innovation and the three-to-five-year strategy for the four-brand, $600M+ global Wellness portfolio

  • Set the global innovation roadmap, portfolio priorities, and strategic guardrails across renovation, expansion, and new product development

  • Translate the global roadmap into activation and execution in the U.S. market, including delivery of the U.S. Wellness P&L

  • Partner with the International President to define the global roadmap and enable delivery of the international P&L

  • Establish clear decision rights and operating rhythms,

U.S. P&L Ownership & Financial Performance

  • Own the complete U.S. P&L for the Wellness portfolio (Honeywell, Vicks, PUR, and Braun); accountable for revenue targets, margin management, cost control, and profitability

  • Make trade-off decisions between growth investment, margin, and near-term profitability with imperfect information

  • Develop and execute annual operating plans for the U.S. Wellness P&L; establish financial and strategic milestones and take accountability for hitting targets

  • Manage capital allocation across U.S. marketing, sales enablement, and promotional investments with clear ROI discipline

  • Establish and monitor KPIs across U.S. revenue, margin, market share, brand health, and customer satisfaction; use data to inform decisions and course corrections

  • Drive U.S. sales forecasting accuracy and hold the organization accountable for achievement

Matrixed Leadership & Organizational Alignment

  • Lead three direct reports (VP, Global Innovation; VP, U.S. Marketing; and VP, U.S. Sales) in a matrixed, collaborative model

  • Build trust and influence across functional and international leaders; align competing priorities and drive accountability without requiring all functions to report directly to the GM

  • Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team; create clarity of roles, expectations, and accountability; and drive a performance culture with clear consequences and recognition

  • Model Helen of Troy values and create a collaborative, results-oriented culture; lead with resourcefulness, scrappiness, and relentless problem-solving

  • Drive regular alignment on strategy, execution, and cross-functional dependencies

Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

  • Maintain deep understanding of the U.S. competitive landscape, consumer trends, and market dynamics; translate insights into strategic opportunities and threats

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews of market share, penetration, and brand performance; use data to inform strategic adjustments

  • Identify emerging opportunities and growth levers in the U.S. market

  • Ensure regular consumer and customer insight integration into strategy and decision-making

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 15+ years of progressive business leadership experience, with a minimum of 5–7 years as a General Manager or equivalent P&L owner (business unit, brand, category, or geographic P&L of $300M+)

  • Proven track record of building and scaling brands, including revenue growth, market share gains, and brand equity improvement

  • Demonstrated experience translating strategy into commercial outcomes across pricing, promotion, product, and channel

  • 5+ years of cross-functional leadership spanning at minimum Marketing and Sales, ideally including Product or Innovation

  • Direct experience building and developing talent in a complex, matrixed environment

  • Strong consumer insight orientation demonstrated through product launches, market research applications, or consumer-driven strategy development

  • Experience in consumer products, health and wellness, beauty, personal care, or an adjacent category

  • Demonstrated experience leading businesses that include durable consumer products, devices, regulated products, or technology-enabled products

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, MBA

  • Experience with multi-brand portfolio management

  • Track record of building and launching successful new brands, products, platforms, or line extensions

  • Background in DTC, e-commerce, or omnichannel business models; Amazon or Walmart experience

  • Experience scaling consumer devices, durable consumer products, hard goods, medical devices, consumer electronics, air treatment, or water filtration businesses

  • Experience operating in regulated categories and working with applicable requirements, including FDA, CPSC, or other health, wellness, device, or consumer product regulations

  • Global or international business experience

  • Experience operating with high consumer and customer intimacy and data-driven decision-making

  • Background in a startup or scale-up environment, demonstrating resourcefulness and entrepreneurial drive

In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $304,031 - $400,000 annually. This base pay range is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
