Why This Role

We are looking for an experienced Freelance HSE Senior Consultant based in Greece to support client engagements across Health, Safety and Environment.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced HSE professional who can bring strong technical expertise alongside a practical, hands-on approach. You will work closely with client teams, helping them assess HSE risks, identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions that deliver measurable and sustainable improvements.

Your Impact at dss+

As a Freelance HSE Senior Consultant, you will bring specialist HSE expertise to client engagements and work directly with operational teams to translate good practice into practical improvements.

Depending on the engagement, you may:

• Lead HSE assessments, audits and improvement workstreams

• Assess operational risks, systems, processes and improvement opportunities

• Facilitate workshops and engage with stakeholders across different levels of client organisations

• Develop practical recommendations and support clients through implementation

• Provide subject matter expertise across HSE and operational risk initiatives

• Work alongside client teams in operational and industrial environments

• Support the development of stronger HSE capabilities, behaviours and ways of working

• Collaborate with dss+ project teams to ensure high-quality, impactful delivery

Requirements

Who You Are

You bring strong analytical thinking, a curious mindset, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, solving complex problems, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.

We are particularly interested in individuals who bring:

• Strong professional experience across HSE, safety or operational risk

• Experience gained within consulting and/or industrial operations

• Demonstrable experience delivering HSE improvement initiatives in operational environments

• Experience leading assessments, workshops or specialist workstreams

• Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills

• The ability to work independently and quickly build credibility with operational and leadership teams

• Experience within high-risk or asset-intensive industries

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, HSE, safety or a related discipline

• Fluency in Greek and English

• Availability to travel to client sites within Greece as required
