Founding Hardware Engineer
About the Role
Join a small, early-stage team developing a wearable device for private interaction with computers. As the founding hardware engineer, you will own the hardware from the next board revision through production, helping shape a product designed for use on the move.
What You'll Do
Improve PCB layout, power, RF, size, reliability, and cost across upcoming hardware revisions.
Take prototype hardware toward production by developing manufacturing, testing, supplier, and assembly processes.
Identify and resolve issues during board bring-up, real-world testing, and manufacturing.
Own hardware decisions and the quality of each device that ships.
What We're Looking For
Typically 2 to 7 years of experience, with a track record of personally designing PCBs that shipped in a real product.
Experience with compact wearables, IoT devices, or consumer electronics is especially relevant.
Experience taking hardware from prototype to production, including layout, power, RF, testing, suppliers, and assembly.
Early-career engineers with strong fundamentals and demonstrated ability to work quickly with AI tools may also be a fit.
A hands-on approach and interest in owning design, testing, and manufacturing work end to end.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary is $70,000 to $80,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
