As an Engineering Technician IV, you will serve as a highly experienced technical contributor supporting aerospace manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, and special processes. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues, execute engineering activities, improve processes, and support safe and efficient production.


In this role, you will provide advanced hands-on technical support across a variety of manufacturing processes and equipment. You will independently perform technical assignments, support engineering trials and process qualifications, collect and analyze manufacturing data, develop and maintain technical documentation, and assist with implementation of process improvements.


You may support manufacturing and special processes including aluminum brazing, vacuum brazing, heat treatment, machining, hardware installation, assembly, cleaning, coatings, and product testing.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving manufacturing problems, working directly with production equipment and processes, and supporting continuous improvement within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do



  • Provide advanced technical support for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production activities.
  • Independently troubleshoot manufacturing, process, equipment, and product issues and work with Engineering and Quality to identify and implement solutions.
  • Support the development, improvement, qualification, validation, and sustainment of manufacturing and special processes.
  • Execute engineering trials, process evaluations, testing, data collection, and other technical activities under established engineering requirements.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with process development, process characterization, capability studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, routers, procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, technical procedures, production standards, and supporting records.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing defects, equipment issues, process variation, and production performance.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, process issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the design, fabrication, installation, modification, and validation of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and process equipment.
  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance activities, calibration coordination, and implementation of equipment improvements.
  • Support new product introduction, First Article Inspection (FAI), manufacturing readiness, and transition of new or transferred products into production.
  • Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing flow, productivity, ergonomics, safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Support implementation and sustainment of process controls and standard work.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to production personnel and less experienced Engineering Technicians.
  • Support training activities for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and work instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, Lean, CORE, and other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, quality, and special-process requirements, including AS9100 and Nadcap requirements, as applicable.
  • Collaborate effectively across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and other functions to resolve technical and production challenges.



Qualifications You Must Have


  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, testing, or other technical operations.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, technical procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with troubleshoot complex manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, or product issues.
  • Experience using measurement equipment, manufacturing tools, test equipment, or other technical equipment applicable to the position.
  • Experience documenting technical work, collecting data, and communicating technical findings to engineering and manufacturing teams.



Qualifications We Prefer


  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to translate engineering requirements into practical manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or special processes such as brazing, heat treatment, machining, coatings, assembly, cleaning, pressure/leak testing, flow testing, or other product testing.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, Nadcap, and aerospace special-process requirements.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience developing manufacturing work instructions, standard work, process documentation, or technical procedures.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or providing technical guidance to technicians or production personnel.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and engineering/manufacturing documentation systems.

The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
