Engineering Program Manager (6341)

itD is seeking an Engineering Program Manager, Data & Analytics to lead strategy and execution for large-scale analytics and data engineering initiatives supporting data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in technical program management, data engineering and analytics lifecycles, and cross-functional delivery, with a track record of driving complex programs from strategy through execution.

Location: Onsite — Bay Area, CA preferred.

Pay rate: $36.36/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional technical programs spanning data engineering, data science, analytics, and customer-facing systems.
  • Drive strategy, roadmap development, execution, and delivery for complex, large-scale data and analytics initiatives.
  • Coordinate engineering, data science, product, and business stakeholders to establish priorities, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Analyze data definitions, transformations, modeling, and downstream analytics impacts to ensure data remains accurate, meaningful, and fit for purpose.
  • Manage program status reporting, roadmap reviews, engineering reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Navigate fast-paced and ambiguously defined initiatives involving multiple customers, partners, and technical teams.
  • Identify program risks, dependencies, and execution challenges while driving timely resolution and alignment.

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in Technical Program Management.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Data Engineering and/or Data Science.
  • Deep understanding of data engineering and analytics lifecycles, including business/data understanding, data preparation and modeling, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and data-driven systems.
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage fast-paced, ambiguous, and complex technical programs involving multiple stakeholders and partners.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data meaning, transformations, dependencies, and the downstream impact of changes to datasets and metrics.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • PMP, ACP, CSM, SAFe, PgMP, PfMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in payments, digital wallets, or large-scale e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience with privacy-preserving technologies, such as differential privacy.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies.
  • Experience working with large-scale analytics platforms and data systems.
  • Familiarity with macOS environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Data Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology preferred.
