At Endress+Hauser, progress happens by working together. As the global leader in measurement instrumentation, our over 18,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether developing and realizing new technology as a team, collaborating to build instrumentation, or strengthening vital relationships with countless global industries, we work to create trusted relationships that help everyone thrive. As a family-owned company, we look beyond short-term moves and work to create a vision that is forward-thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large.

We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to strengthen our interdisciplinary development activities in optical measurement technology. Working at the intersection of electronics, embedded systems and measurement technology, you will contribute to the development and integration of electronics into innovative measurement systems.

What is the role about?

Are you fascinated by developing electronics that ultimately become part of a complete measurement system? Do you enjoy moving between circuit design, laboratory testing and embedded programming? And would you like to develop your expertise while working alongside specialists from electronics, mechanics, optics and software?

In this role, you will contribute to the development of the electronic foundations of our measurement systems and support their integration into the overall device. You will join an interdisciplinary development environment in Germany, working closely with colleagues from Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis in the United States on the development and advancement of optical measurement technologies.

Which tasks will you perform?

You will:

  • Design, develop, implement and test analog and digital electronic circuits for measurement systems
  • Support the integration of electronic components and assemblies into complete measurement systems
  • Develop embedded functionality and work with microcontrollers as part of the electronics architecture
  • Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting and validation of electronic designs in the laboratory
  • Collaborate closely with specialists from electronics, mechanics, optics, signal processing and software engineering
  • Contribute to the further development of existing measurement platforms and support new technology and measurement concepts

What do we expect from you?

You:

  • Have a degree in electrical engineering, electronics, embedded systems engineering or a comparable technical discipline
  • Bring a solid foundation in the design and development of analog and digital electronics
  • Have experience or knowledge of microcontroller programming and embedded systems
  • Enjoy practical engineering work and are motivated to understand how electronics interact with mechanics, optics and software in a complete system
  • Ideally bring knowledge of measurement technology or FPGA programming
  • Communicate fluently in English and enjoy working in an international engineering environment. German language skills are an advantage

What can you expect from us?

  • We are a family-owned, highly committed company with a sustainable, long-term vision
  • You will work on technology where electronics, optics, mechanics and software come together in real measurement systems
  • You will collaborate in an international development environment, including colleagues from Optical Analysis in the United States
  • We promote lifelong learning through versatile training, further education opportunities and internal knowledge transfer
  • You will have the opportunity to expand your technical expertise across disciplines while developing within an experienced engineering environment
  • We prioritize employee well-being and long-term professional development
