JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing MRP to ensure that material supply meets demand requirements while supporting the optimization of overall material costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop supply base and Supply Chain strategies that are tailored to customer requirements or Business Unit strategic materials.
- Support customer business needs through standard processes whenever possible and customized solutions when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and SCM team to determine the most effective approach for meeting customer requirements.
- Influence customer supply chain strategies to align with and leverage Jabil's supply chain capabilities.
- Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits, site visits, certifications, and performance reviews to develop and continuously improve the supply base.
- Gather feedback from Material Planners regarding supplier delivery, quality, and service performance.
- Support, execute, and provide recommendations to enhance Jabil SCM initiatives and strategies.
- Prepare quotations for new and existing materials; collaborate with the Materials Quotation Analyst when applicable.
- Regularly re-quote and negotiate pricing to maximize cost reduction opportunities.
- Make sourcing decisions based on total cost and overall value, considering factors such as: Price Duties and taxes Freight costs Flexibility Service level Supplier performance Quality Commercial terms and conditions
- Negotiate terms and conditions that protect the best interests of Jabil and its customers.
- Negotiate liability terms, special stocking arrangements, and non-standard commercial agreements.
- Ensure execution of Jabil pricing agreements and Terms & Conditions, including Worldwide Purchasing Agreements.
- Improve sourcing options by working with internal stakeholders and customers to add Jabil preferred or strategic suppliers to the Approved Manufacturer List (AML).
- Analyze and forecast component purchase prices to accurately reflect inventory value during the Standard Costing process.
- Provide input on customer quoted costs to remain competitive while maximizing Materials Price Variance (MPV).
- Continuously optimize MPV by: Reducing material costs Minimizing unfavorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and MPV
- Work with Business Unit Managers (BUM) to obtain customer approval for additional costs such as: Material premiums Expedited freight charges Tooling expenses incurred on the customer's behalf
- Collaborate with Material Planners to monitor, track, and provide feedback on supplier performance for continuous improvement.
- Ensure suppliers effectively support Jabil's overall business objectives.
- Follow all safety and health regulations associated with the position.
- Comply with all company security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
