Design Engineer

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Develop safe, practical and efficient drainage solutions; maintain the quality of design deliverables; and support project teams in resolving technical matters during construction.

MAIN TASKS

1. System Design and Hydraulic Calculations

• Review project inputs and design criteria, then propose suitable drainage concepts for each project.
• Design sanitary drainage, stormwater and siphonic roof drainage systems using applicable Geberit solutions.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, size pipework and verify key design parameters and routing requirements.
• Prepare drawings, design notes, calculation reports, material schedules and other technical submissions.

2. Design Review and Optimization

• Review drainage designs prepared by consultants and MEP contractors, identify gaps and issue clear technical comments.
• Recommend practical improvements to routing, plant space, installation methods and material use.
• Maintain design revisions, technical responses and change records throughout the design process.

3. Project and Site Technical Support

• Attend technical meetings with developers, consultants, main contractors and MEP contractors.
• Carry out site inspections to check that installation work follows the approved design intent.
• Respond to RFIs and provide design input for technical issues arising during construction.
• Provide installation guidance and support technical inspections, testing and handover activities when assigned.

4. Technical Sales and Knowledge Support

• Assist the Technical Sales team with project proposals, technical presentations and customer discussions.
• Develop and maintain calculation templates, drawing libraries and design guidance documents.
• Record project lessons learned and share relevant technical knowledge with internal teams and business partners.
• Undertake other technical duties within the scope of the role as assigned by the line manager.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Water Supply and Drainage Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3 years and above of experience in drainage, plumbing or MEP design. Experience on high-rise, commercial, hospitality, healthcare or industrial projects is preferred.
