Dental Assistant - Per Diem

Job Summary
Provides clinical and administrative support to the dental care team while delivering a positive, patient-centered experience. Responsibilities include assisting with dental procedures, taking dental radiographs, supporting patient education, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with scheduling and other day-to-day dental office operations.Does this position require Patient Care?

Essential Functions
-Collaborates with dental hygienists and the dental care team to support patient care and clinical procedures.
-Accurately documents treatment information and maintains complete patient records.
-Performs dental radiographs and assists with the proper care and maintenance of dental X-ray equipment.
-Educates patients on dental hygiene, oral health care, and effective plaque control practices.
-Collects and documents medical and dental histories, as well as patient vital signs.
-Provides patients with clear postoperative care instructions as directed by the dentist.
-Assists with ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment and supply inventory.
-Assists with fabricating temporary restorations and creating custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
-Supports appointment scheduling, record management, and other administrative activities as needed.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Dental Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
Dental Assistant experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Completion of a Dental Hygiene Program.
- Comfortable using computers and electronic systems to support patient care and daily office operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and members of the dental care team.
- Professional, positive, and patient-focused approach.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.
- Familiarity with dental practice management systems, electronic charting, and digital radiography is preferred.
