Corporate Obligations Governance Leader
Company:
MarshDescription:
Corporate Obligations Governance Leader
We are seeking a talented leader to join our Marsh People & Investments team at Marsh. This is a business-facing, commercial role for someone who operates within the business rather than a purely functional specialist. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This leadership role sits within the business, supporting Marsh People & Investments across the Pacific region. Bringing strong commercial judgement, you will partner with business leaders — rather than operating purely as a functional specialist — to ensure key corporate obligations are governed and executed on effectively. You will lead the coordination of enterprise-wide activity across areas such as Modern Slavery, Health and Safety, WGEA, RAP, climate reporting and related commitments.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across legal, risk, compliance, business and Centre of Excellence teams to strengthen governance, reporting and accountability. This role suits someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex environments and supporting consistent delivery across multiple teams.
We will count on you to:
- Oversee key corporate obligations and commitments through appropriate governance forums and reporting cadence
- Coordinate communication, monitoring, approvals and progression of obligations across the business and support functions
- Partner with legal, risk, compliance and business teams to improve governance and reporting processes
- Help design and embed practical workflows that support repeatable delivery across multiple departments
- Support related party service provider governance and accountability arrangements
- Work with executives and Centres of Excellence to build understanding of Australian legislative and regulatory requirements
What you need to have:
- Demonstrated broad-based business experience — for example in commercial, operational, strategy, corporate advisory or general management roles — rather than experience limited to risk and compliance alone, ideally gained within complex, regulated environments
- Experience managing corporate obligations and governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and transformation or change initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead and influence confidently across senior and diverse audiences
What makes you stand out:
- A bachelor’s degree in law
- Experience in financial services or superannuation
- Experience using technology, data or process improvement to strengthen governance outcomes
Why join our team:
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being
