Consulting Supply Chain Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading supply chain and procurement consulting engagements for private equity firms and their portfolio companies, with a focus on cost reduction, operational improvement, and value creation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead client delivery across strategic sourcing, procurement transformation, supply chain optimization, and cost-reduction engagements.
· Manage project scope, timelines, resources, deliverables, and financial performance.
· Analyze client spend, contracts, suppliers, processes, solutions design, financial modeling and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
· Develop sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and implement savings initiatives.
· Build executive-level business cases, dashboards, and performance reporting.
· Manage client relationships and communicate findings to portfolio company and private equity leadership.
· Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure successful implementation of recommendations.
· Support due diligence, post-close planning, and portfolio-wide procurement initiatives.
· Identify follow-on opportunities within existing client relationships.
· Coach and oversee analysts, consultants, and supporting delivery resources.
· Maintain accurate tracking of savings, project risks, milestones, and commercial commitments.
· Travel to client locations as required.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Strong knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, and cost-reduction methodologies.
· Demonstrated ability to manage consulting projects and client relationships.
· Strong analytical, financial modeling, project management, and negotiation skills.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP, spend analytics, and business intelligence tools preferred.
· Ability to analyze complex data, develop recommendations, and drive implementation.
· Ability to communicate effectively with executives, functional leaders, suppliers, and project teams.
· Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
· Experience working with private equity firms or portfolio companies is preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering, or a related discipline required.
· MBA or advanced degree preferred.
· Project Management experience with PMP Certification preferred
· Minimum of five years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or management consulting.
· Prior experience leading client-facing projects and managing delivery teams required.
· Travel required monthly for customer visits and to company HQ's.
