Consultant, Global Master Data Management
Job Description Summary:
This role is member of a 9-member strong team called Costa Master Data Management which is part of a group called Master Data Management in the Global Digital Network, Data & Intelligence Tower. This is a vibrant & highly motivated group that collaborates across different data domains.

Today, we’re looking for a Consultant, Global Master Data Management, to join our team.
You will provide operational and governance oversight for an assigned master data domain—partnering with our managed service provider and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Data Stewardship & Governance
- Serve as a steward for an assigned master data domain (currently Costa Coffee Chart of Accounts, Price Cards, and Sales Trade Agreements), ensuring adherence to governance standards, policies, and operational controls.
- Partner with Costa MDM Projects & Process Improvement Team and Costa Business stakeholders to execute and manage data standards, data quality standards and stewardship accountability.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise master data policies, data standards, and governance requirements.
- Support the implementation of data governance initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
- Participate in the testing and roll out of any updates to tools and processes, in partnership with the Costa Business team and the Costa MDM Projects & Process Improvement Team.
Master Data Operations
- Provide operational and governance oversight over a managed services team responsible for the execution of CRUD (Create, Review, Update, Delete) for your assigned master data domain (currently Costa Coffee Chart of Accounts, Price Cards, and Sales Trade Agreements)
- Monitoring their operational measures and working with them to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work with the Costa Business Data Governance team & the Costa MDM Projects & Process Improvement Team to enforce Data Standards and Rules in the designated MDM Domain
- Perform remediation actions to close gaps identified through the Data Quality process.
- Validate master data requests and ensure proper execution of data maintenance processes.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) Management
- Serve as a primary liaison between business stakeholders and Managed Service Providers responsible for master data execution.
- Review, approve, and maintain standard operating procedures governing master data operations.
- Provide guidance and operational oversight to ensure data transactions are completed accurately and within established service levels.
- Support issue resolution, escalation management, and process improvements across MSP-supported activities.
- Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and quality.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders regarding assigned master data domain (currently Costa Coffee Chart of Accounts, Price Cards, and Sales Trade Agreements)
- Support business functions, IT and other stakeholders with master data expertise.
- Communicate data impacts, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships to drive alignment on data requirements, standards, and priorities.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and stewardship awareness across stakeholder groups.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validation activities supporting new capabilities and innovation initiatives.
- Support digital transformation efforts through the adoption of modern master data management practices and technologies.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of scalable master data solutions supporting global business requirements.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Master Data is required
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Professional certifications related to Data Management or Master Data Management are preferred.
Related Work Experience
- Experience supporting complex global master data environments and business processes.
- Experience collaborating with Managed Service Providers and cross-functional business teams.
- Demonstrated experience driving data quality improvements and process optimization.
- Experience working within global and matrixed organizations preferred.
