The Raytheon Capacity Growth Office (CGO) is establishing a dedicated engineering initiatives capability focused on enabling enterprise-wide process improvements and accelerating adoption of emerging technologies.
The Engineering Enablement and Process Improvement Initiatives Lead will serve as a technical and strategic driver for engineering modernization efforts.
This role will lead and support cross-functional initiatives that enhance innovation, improve operating efficiency, standardize engineering processes, and strengthen compliance. Examples of cross-functional projects supported in this role include efforts involving adoption of Generative AI (GenAI), expansion of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), quality improvement initiatives, and secure material movement process enhancement.
Typical project results may include improved engineering productivity through automation or standardized workflows, reduced cycle time for security or operational processes, increased clarity and consistency in engineering procedures, enhanced compliance readiness, reduced material movement delays or bottlenecks, and higher throughput across engineering teams leveraging modern digital capabilities.
The ideal candidate has strong engineering leadership experience, a track record of process transformation, and the ability to coordinate solutions across engineering, digital technology, operations, security, facilities, and program teams. This role directly supports the CGO Engineering Initiatives Leader.
What You Will Do
Technology and Process Enablement
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as GenAI, VDI, automation, and digital engineering tools.
- Assess and pilot new technical solutions that strengthen productivity, throughput, and compliance.
- Lead cross-functional process improvement efforts focused on enhancing operational workflows, reducing bottlenecks, and increasing consistency and efficiency across engineering and related functions.
- Establish standardized engineering practices and create scalable, repeatable solutions
Cross-Functional Coordination and Execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure organizational, technical, and compliance needs are effectively supported.
- Manage readiness, resourcing, risks, and dependencies across multiple stakeholders.
- Execute pilot projects, define success criteria, assess results, and scale proven solutions.
Governance, Communication, and Compliance
- Provide clear communication, reporting, and KPI tracking for leadership and teams.
- Ensure adherence to policy, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent CGO Engineering Initiatives in reviews, working groups, and enterprise forums.
Travel required up to 35% to engage with stakeholders, support initiatives, and ensure alignment across sites.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology. Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- Ten (10) or more years of proven experience in engineering leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional project execution.
- Experience piloting, evaluating, and scaling technical and operational initiatives.
- Experience with emerging technologies such as GenAI and VDI, and their application to engineering workflows.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience developing innovative technical solutions.
- Communication skills with experience preparing leadership-level updates and technical briefings.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, digital technology, security, quality, operations, and supply chain in a matrixed environment.
- Experience driving adoption of standardized processes in large organizations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Program Management experience and/or certification
- Both defense and commercial industry experience.
- Experience with quality improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma) or CORE Operating Framework
- Experience with security processes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with process optimization, operational methodologies, and policy and standards documentation.
- Experience scaling initiatives and leading collaboration across complex organizations.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
