About HIVE

HIVE is a new business center on the full 14th floor of i-Rise Tower, Barsha Heights: 119 private offices,

meeting rooms, a podcast studio and a lobby café with a 30-seat lounge. Good coffee is part of how we look

after our members. We open in December 2026.

About the role

You run the lobby café on a La Marzocco two-group machine. Members come to you two or three times a

day; guests get their first coffee from you while they wait for a tour. You make very good coffee, keep the

counter and lounge spotless, manage stock and know the regulars by name. Your energy sets the mood of the lobby.

We are hiring two baristas: a Lead Barista (owns recipes, machine care, ordering; trains the second) and a

Barista. Say which one you are applying for.

Responsibilities:

• Espresso drinks, filter, tea, iced drinks and juices to one recipe, every cup. Dial in the grinder each

morning; steam smooth microfoam; pour clean latte art.

• Clean group heads, wands and grinder on schedule; back-flush at close.

• Display, date-label and serve pastries and sandwiches; toast to order; log waste.

• Open and close the café with the daily checklist.

• Card payments or member account in the app — the café is card-only.

• Stock counts and ordering from agreed suppliers; check deliveries.

• Dubai Municipality food-safety logs (temperature, cleaning, allergens).

• Refreshments for meeting rooms and events; help the front desk in busy hours.

Requirements

Skills

• 2+ years as a barista on a manual or semi-automatic machine (La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli or similar) in

a specialty café, hotel café or premium office café. Super-automatic-only experience is not enough.

• You can dial in a grinder, pull a consistent shot, steam proper microfoam and pour latte art.

• Fast and tidy at a busy counter; comfortable with a POS and stock counts.

• Food-handler certificate required before opening (we arrange and pay). Lead: PIC certificate, also

arranged by us.

• Fluent English; Arabic, Russian, Filipino or Hindi a plus.

Attitude

• Positive and energetic — you lift the mood of the room. Not serious or heavy.

• Warm with people: remember names, smile first, enjoy small talk without losing speed.

• Proud of the cup and the counter; calm in a rush; happy to help beyond the counter.

• Flexible on hours: occasional extra hours for events or cover, paid as overtime per UAE labour law.
