[What the role is]

As an Assistant Engineer / Senior Assistant Engineer (Operations), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

[What you will be working on]

·       Support shift operators in the day-to-day operation of water treatment plants, assist in conducting site inspections and help ensure compliance with SOPs, WSH regulations and Permit-to-Work systems.

·       Review water sampling and laboratory test results, monitor plant performance data and ensure water quality is consistently maintained in accordance with WHO, USEPA and EPH guidelines.

·       Analyse operational data and water quality trends to identify anomalies and areas for improvement, and prepare regular performance reports and KPI summaries for management.

·       Administer operations-related contracts, coordinate contractor works on-site, and manage associated documentation including payment processing and procurement records.

·       Collaborate closely with colleagues across the plant, including maintenance, engineering and operations teams, as well as external parties such as regulators and vendors, to get things done together effectively.

·       Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the review of SOPs and work instructions to enhance plant efficiency and reliability, and support follow-up actions arising from operational incidents where necessary.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements

 

• Diploma in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline)
• Experience in water treatment, utilities or process plant operations is an advantage
• Experience in contract administration or contractor coordination is an advantage
• Familiarity with SCADA systems or data analysis tools is an advantage

*Candidate with more relevant years of experience can be considered for Senior Assistant Engineer position.

• Technical knowledge in water treatment processes or related engineering disciplines

• Strong analytical, reporting and administrative skills

• Good communication and stakeholder management skills

• Safety-conscious with working knowledge of WSH regulations

• Meticulous, organised and able to manage multiple priorities independently

• Tech-savvy with an interest in digitalisation, process automation or data-driven operations
