Associate Manager, New Verticals - Fulfillment Dasher Strategy & Operations
About the Team
New Verticals is an exciting team at DoorDash that is building and scaling new ways to delight our customers beyond restaurant delivery. Our broader Central Operations team is responsible for delivery quality and efficiency across all sides of our marketplace. We do this by identifying efficiencies, building product tooling, and launching operational processes at scale. You will own metrics, pull operational and product levers, and drive impactful results across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses.
About the Role
As an Associate Manager, you’ll build and scale the operational engine behind DoorDash’s in-store AI platform. You’ll turn in-store data from tens of thousands of physical store locations into better experiences for merchants, Dashers, and CPG partners—and measurable improvements in inventory accuracy, Dasher pick time, and customer selection.
You’ll work at the intersection of physical retail and technology, using data and partner feedback to identify opportunities and shape solutions with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations. You’ll take initiatives from strategy through launch and iteration, translating complex, real-world challenges into improvements that work across the marketplace.
This is an opportunity to help build an in-store AI platform and define how it creates value across a large, evolving business. You’ll have room to take ownership, work through ambiguity, and see the impact of your work in the real experiences of our partners and customers.
You will report into a Senior Manager on our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team and be an individual contributor position. We operate in a hybrid model and spend a few days a month in person together. We have two positions so throughout the interview process, we will consider you for two roles and align on role fit throughout the interview process!
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Analyze. You love working with data to drive business decision-making and are familiar with SQL.
- Lead: You'll spearhead cross-functional projects, collaborating with Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to develop and implement tech solutions that increase selection across our New Vertical offerings.
- Strategize: You will own and deliver on improving key selection metrics. You’ll create and execute quarterly and annual strategic plans aligned with product capabilities to elevate order quality.
- Build: You will build strategic initiatives and drive innovation across our offerings; this can vary from AI-powered selection predictions to improving the Cx shopping experience. This means everything from high-level strategy to operational details.
We’re excited about you because…
- You are an operator. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re also able to think long-term. You are excited to experience our operation firsthand to inform your strategy.
- You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to think innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
- You’re analytical. You possess a sharp analytical mind, and can extract and communicate meaningful insights from data to drive strategic decisions. You are comfortable with SQL and data visualization tools.
- You’re AI native. You root cause problems with a systems first approach and can identify how to automate repeatable tasks using AI tools like Claude, Cursor, Gemini or Copilot.
- You have 4-6+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performing cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, startups or a related experience).
- You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree ideally in finance, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus!
