Associate Director - M&A Integration - Private Equity

By joining our rapidly growing Private Equity practice, you will serve as a trusted partner to private equity sponsors, portfolio company executives, and CFOs executing acquisition and buy-and-build strategies.  

You will bring first-hand Finance leadership experience, unique perspectives, and functional expertise to deliver tailored solutions that accelerate value creation and support successful post-close integration outcomes.  

As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, team leadership, and developing junior team members. You will also participate in account management and business development activities.  

What You'll Do

    Finance & Office of the CFO  

    • Own the Finance workstream on post-close integrations.  

    • Lead integration across all functional areas, including Financial Reporting, Controllership, FP&A, and Treasury.   

    • Support or lead Finance tech-stack integration and system rationalization initiatives.  

    • Advise CFOs and Finance leadership on operating model design, organizational structure, reporting processes, and integration priorities.  

    • Establish integrated management reporting and KPI frameworks to support executive decision-making, board reporting, and sponsor oversight.  

    • Lead synergy identification, value capture tracking, EBITDA improvement initiatives, and variance reporting.  

    Integration Work  

    • Lead complex integration engagements, translating the sponsor's investment thesis into executable Finance integration roadmaps.  

    • Drive Integration Management Office (IMO) governance, reporting, and program management and holistic IMO oversight.  

    • Drive Day 1 readiness planning and post-close execution across Finance and cross-functional stakeholders.  

    • Own C-suite and sponsor communication on integration progress.  

    • Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved AI-enabled solutions for clients and collaborate with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client and internal outcomes.  

    Client Leadership & Business Development  

    • Build new client relationships, deepen existing ones, and support leadership in go-to-market efforts and proposal creation.  

    • Oversee client accounts, including work plans, staffing, timelines, budgets, and delivery quality.  

    • Play a key role in talent development, including mentoring and coaching junior team members.  

    • Attract, interview, hire, and retain top talent

What You'll Bring

    • 8+ years of experience in management consulting, M&A integration, Finance transformation, CFO advisory, or in-house Finance leadership at a PE-backed company.  

    • Demonstrated experience leading Finance workstreams for post-close integrations in consulting firms, advisory practices, or PE-backed environments.  

    • Strong understanding of Finance functions, including Financial Reporting, Controllership, FP&A, Treasury, and the finance tech stack.  

    • Experience partnering with CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership teams to execute strategic integration initiatives.  

    • Proven ability to develop and manage integration roadmaps, governance structures, executive communications, and value capture programs.  

    • Experience supporting private equity sponsors and portfolio companies through acquisition integration and buy-and-build strategies.  

    • Track record of running large-scale integration projects to completion.  

    • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence decisions and build trusted advisor relationships.  

    • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.  

    • Comfort with AI and a continuous learning mindset: demonstrated ability to responsibly adopt firm-approved AI tools and openness to emerging technologies in alignment with firm policies.  

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.  

    • CPA, CFA or CA credential strongly preferred.  

    • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed — hybrid delivery model.
