Disney seeks an Analyst, BI Engineering specializing in YouTube data and analytics to join the Enterprise Research & Analytics team. The Brand Analytics team is a highly visible department that is charged with finding the best methods to understand consumer thoughts, feelings, and behaviors across digital and social channels. They play an integral part in aiding key business decisions for the Walt Disney Company, encompassing Corporate, Disney Entertainment and Disney Experiences through our core brands; Disney+, Hulu, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Pixar, Disney Live Action, Walt Disney Animation, Disney Parks & Disney Cruise Line, and many more. You will join a dynamic group who are passionate about bringing the consumer voice into decision-making every day. 

You will play a crucial role in advancing the team's YouTube data and Business Intelligence capabilities by engineering data pipelines, analytical tools, software solutions, and scalable BI products that drive informed business decisions. You will contribute to YouTube analytics architecture, data integration and governance, vendor relationships, and UX/UI standards. This role requires hands-on technical fluency with YouTube’s APIs and reporting systems, as well as a passion for developing innovative solutions and optimizing data workflows. 

The role reports to the Manager, BI Engineering and is based in Burbank, CA. This role requires in-person collaboration from Monday to Thursday and remote work on Friday.

You Will / Responsibilities: 

  • Design, build, and maintain analytical tools, data solutions, and software that enable existing analytics & marketing teams at The Walt Disney Company to scale their work, accelerate delivery, and create capacity for continued innovation  
  • Integrate and analyze YouTube-native data and reports from the YouTube API, YouTube Studio Analytics, Content Manager, and internal data lakes, alongside broader digital and social intelligence sources, to identify trends and understand consumer behaviors, expressed preferences, and responses to marketing efforts 
  • Develop YouTube analytics frameworks and BI products that translate evolving business questions into standardized data models, metrics, dashboards, and insights products; partnering closely with other Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team members 
  • Establish and maintain YouTube data governance, technical documentation, validation, and quality control assurance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability  
  • Develop and maintain data visualization and UX/UI standards across dashboards and reports to ensure consistency and clarity across analytical products 
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external data, platform, and engineering partners, ensuring clear prioritization, resource alignment, and on‑time execution  
  • Deliver high‑quality and production-ready BI reporting and analytical products consistently and on time, while managing stakeholder expectations  
  • Deliver executive‑level data storytelling by translating complex YouTube datasets, performance metrics, and analytics outputs into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior leadership  
  • Serve as the YouTube analytics expert and thought leader for Disney digital marketing team, bringing the voice of the consumer into decision-making through timely, relevant, and actionable quantitative and qualitative insights  

You Will Have / Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering–adjacent roles, including research, social media, consumer data, and digital marketing, with direct ownership of analytical systems, reporting pipelines, or insight products
  • Hands-on experience extracting, managing, and analyzing data through YouTube’s analytics and content management ecosystem, including API access, YouTube Studio and CMS 
  • Experience with YouTube-specific data structures, dimensions, metrics, and reporting schemas 
  • Knowledge of platform‑native analytics APIs across additional social platforms: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X/Twitter 
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, social media, and consumer behavior datasets, including high‑volume, multi‑source data feeds
  • Knowledge of business intelligence methodologies including Data Analysis, Data Integration, Data Migration, Data Warehousing, and Data Visualization 
  • Proficiency with SQL, and the ability to extract and combine disparate data sources into coherent analytical outputs
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization software (such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Domo), including dashboard performance optimization and UX standardization 
  • Knowledge of AI‑powered analytics, leveraging large language models (LLMs) to accelerate analysis, enhance data exploration, and improve insight generation through effective prompt engineering and agentic workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) using AI pair‑programming to accelerate SQL, Python, or analytics engineering tasks
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or similar programming languages 
  • Proficiency with enterprise social analytics and listening platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Quid, RivalIQ) including query logic, taxonomy construction, and data normalization 
  • Knowledge of data workflows across various stages, from backend sourcing to ingestion pipelines
  • Experience working with a major entertainment/media company and digital media teams
  • Ability to simplify complex data into clear and actionable insights
  • Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, including presenting data and insights to senior leadership

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics , Computer Science, Marketing, Psychology, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $89,000.00 to $119,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
