Job Description: Ambulatory NurseChelsea, London – Cadogan Clinic
£34,000 per annum
Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
Variable rota including on-call shifts
Cadogan Clinic is an award-winning private day hospital specialising in plastic surgery and dermatology, located in the heart of Chelsea.
We are looking for an experienced Ambulatory Nurse to join our theatre and ambulatory ward team, supporting leading plastic surgeons and perioperative teams across three state-of-the-art operating theatres.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Ambulatory Nurse, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality pre- and post-operative care, supporting the ambulatory team, and ensuring smooth theatre operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to ambulatory patients throughout their treatment and recovery
- Supporting the Theatre Manager, Consultant Clinical Directors, and wider clinical team with day-to-day patient care and theatre operations
- Assessing, monitoring, and preparing patients for procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care
- Providing appropriate post-operative monitoring, recovery care, and discharge support in line with clinical guidelines
- Working collaboratively with permanent, bank, and agency staff to maintain safe and effective patient care
- Supporting infection prevention and control practices and ensuring compliance with CQC standards and clinical governance requirements
- Participating in emergency situations, resuscitation calls, and emergency drills in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines
- Contributing to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and the maintenance of high standards of patient safety
- Acting as a professional role model by demonstrating effective communication, teamwork, and patient-centred care
- Supporting the collection of patient satisfaction surveys and contributing to feedback and service improvement
Essential
- NMC-registered nurse or ODP with theatre and perioperative experience
- Strong knowledge of pre- and post-operative care, theatre protocols, and patient safety
- ALS/ILS certification
- Experience in anaesthetic equipment management and phlebotomy
- Exposure to day-case surgery or cosmetic/plastic surgery
- Work alongside leading plastic surgeons and theatre specialists in the UK
