Administrative Assistant II for CASAS
This position is a full-time, twelve-month, staff position in the College of Applied Studies & Academic Success. This individual reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by serving as the first point of contact for concerns, issues, or questions presented by students, parents, faculty, or alumni.
- Greet visitors and interact positively and professionally with all who enter the office.
- Manage Swiper check-in at the front desk.
- Organize and facilitate collaboration and communication with other university departments to stay abreast of any changes in Liberty departments and services.
- Answer phone calls and respond to voicemails for CASAS’ main line; properly route calls to different departments when needed.
- Monitor and provide timely responses to emails received in the CASAS inbox; forward emails to different departments as needed.
- Review and analyze data and reports related to front desk operations (such as Swiper use and most common front desk questions). Summarize findings and provide recommendations or insights.
- Supervise multiple student workers; provide training to ensure situations are appropriately managed. Provide support and feedback as needed.
- Oversee scheduling and hours of student worker team.
- Coordinate and moderate the CASAS Lobby Microsoft Teams group.
- Assist with preparation and implementation of CASAS lobby events and tabling.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises a team of student workers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- 2+ years' administrative experience.
- Customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively as a team member and cultivate positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work well under pressure, independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
- May be required to travel.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lit, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits , including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
