Job Description Summary:

Aviagen Turkeys Inc. is seeking a positive, motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Associate. This position is responsible for preparing customer invoices, processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate customer accounts, and supporting timely collection of outstanding balances.

The Accounts Receivable Associate will reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and generate reports detailing accounts receivable activity and status. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a high degree of accuracy.

Job Description:

  • Prepare and distribute accurate customer invoices, statements, and related billing documents.
  • Process incoming payments in accordance with established financial policies and procedures.
  • Verify, classify, calculate, post, and record accounts receivable transactions.
  • Apply cash, check, credit card, and electronic payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices.
  • Prepare bank deposits and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Compare accounting entries, system reports, and account balances to verify accuracy.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, short payments, and billing issues.
  • Contact customers regarding past-due balances and send payment reminders and account statements.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers while supporting timely collection efforts.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts.
  • Process approved credit memos, adjustments, and customer refunds.
  • Maintain accurate and organized customer account records.
  • Generate financial reports detailing accounts receivable balances, collections, and aging status.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure all accounts receivable transactions comply with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Receivable Associate or in a similar accounting role is required.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, reconcile, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Strong data-entry skills and aptitude for working with numbers.
  • Hands-on experience using spreadsheets and accounting or financial-management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Customer-service orientation with effective collection, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
