Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Month-End Closing

  • Perform month-end closing activities, including calculation and posting of accruals, amortizations, depreciation and IFRS 16 entries.
  • Perform account clearing, reconciliations and follow-up of balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Complete the month-end closing checklist and prepare required information and reports for Corporate Finance.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Prepare and/or review cash flow information.
  • Support banking activities, including checks, bank transactions and related accounting entries.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and reconcile VAT information and support VAT refund documentation.
  • Coordinate accounting information required for tax calculations and electronic accounting.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements, including INEGI and environmental tax reporting.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate compliance.

General

  • Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with EXFO policies, internal controls and applicable local requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate supporting documentation and reconciliations.
  • Identify process improvements and support the standardization and internalization of Finance activities.
  • Collaborate with local and Corporate Finance teams and other internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Mexican accounting and tax requirements.
  • Experience with month-end closing, account reconciliations, AP/AR and payroll accounting.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Intermediate English required; ability to communicate with Corporate Finance teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
