Account Manager - Commodities - Europe
About the role
Kpler gives the world’s leading commodity traders, producers, banks and governments the data they need to make decisions in fast-moving markets. As an Account Manager in our Commodities team, you’ll own and grow a portfolio of European clients who rely on our data every day, and you’ll be rewarded for the growth you drive.
This is a role for someone who likes being a trusted commercial partner to clients and wants real ownership of their accounts, their numbers and their results.
What you’ll do
- Own and grow your accounts. Manage a portfolio of existing European Commodities clients, responding quickly to their needs and exceeding your annual growth targets.
- Find and close new revenue. Spot upsell and cross-sell opportunities and take them through to signature.
- Be a true commercial partner. Help clients with budgeting, multi-year planning, demand planning and reporting, so Kpler becomes part of how they run their business.
- Negotiate deals. Shape contracts and terms that work for both the client and Kpler.
- Shape our strategy. Bring back client insight on our products and competitors to influence what we build and how we sell.
- Keep the pipeline honest. Maintain accurate CRM records and work with the wider sales team on forecasts we can rely on.
- Collaborate and represent. Work with colleagues across the company, represent Kpler at client meetings and industry events, and contribute to company-wide projects.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have:
- Experience in a commercial role, including account management or sales
- Experience selling for a technology or data vendor
- Strong negotiation skills and a proactive, “hunter” mindset: you don’t wait for opportunities to arrive
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivation and discipline, and a liking for fast-paced, unstructured environments
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Experience in commodities, energy or maritime markets, or a keen interest in them
- Familiarity with sales tools such as Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Outreach or Sales Navigator
- German, French or another European language
