Account Executive - Bill Pay (Ejecutivo de Ventas - Cuentas por Pagar) - Mexico City (Hybrid)
Clara is the leading spend management platform in Latin America. More than 40,000 businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the fastest-growing company in Latin America. We're ~400 people, backed by Kaszek, monashees, Coatue, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.
What you'll do
Paying suppliers is still one of the most manual jobs in a Mexican finance team. As Clara's Bill Pay Account Executive, you'll help mid-size and large companies move their payables onto one platform, from approvals to supplier payments to reconciliation, and you'll sell straight to the CFOs and treasurers who feel that pain every week.
In this role, you will:
- Own the full sales cycle: build and manage your own pipeline of mid-size and large Mexican companies, from first research and outreach to negotiation and signature.
- Sell the payables workflow: show finance teams how to onboard suppliers, route approvals, schedule payment runs and reconcile everything in one place, replacing spreadsheets, bank portals and manual file exchanges.
- Partner with the CFO and the treasury team: lead conversations with CFOs, treasurers and controllers, translating a complex payables setup into a clear business case.
- Work the deal internally: coordinate with Product, Operations and Risk to shape what each client needs, and keep implementations moving after signature.
- Cross-sell: grow the value of every account by bringing more of Clara's corporate products into your clients' daily financial operations.
Who you are
Must haves
- Around 3 to 5 years selling financial products or software to mid-size or large companies, or a faster trajectory if you have less time and a stronger record.
- Comfort with payables and treasury workflows: purchase-to-pay, supplier management, payment runs and reconciliation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial processes into clear business benefits for senior decision-makers (CFOs, Treasurers, CEOs).
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
- You have automated part of your own sales or finance workflow with AI or scripts, for example account research, proposal drafting or cash-cycle analysis, and can show us.
- Adaptability to fast-changing environments and a resilient, results-oriented commercial drive.
Nice to haves
- Experience structuring credit (revolving lines, simple loans, factoring) and taking proposals through a credit committee.
- Strong technical expertise in analyzing and interpreting financial statements.
- Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python to dissect financial data and portfolio performance.
What success looks like
- In your first 90 days: a pipeline of mid-size and large accounts, with your first deals in negotiation.
- By 12 months: closed accounts whose payables run through Clara, plus Clara products cross-sold into them.
Build your sales career at Clara
At Clara, we don't just offer a sales job—we provide an environment designed for high performance, long-term wealth, and continuous career growth.
How you'll earn: base salary plus uncapped commission and equity from day one. Your variable is tied directly to the accounts you close, and top-performing AEs consistently earn more than their managers.
What we leave behind
If you have been in sales long enough, you know the industry's bad habits. We actively reject them:
- No "Rolodex" hiring: We don't hire just for connections. We value professionals who actually care to learn our product, solve real customer problems, and know how to close.
- No "Churn and Burn": We reject the revolving door culture. When we hire you, we invest in your quick success and long-term retention.
The Clara sales model. We engineered a transparent system built to help you win big:
- #Ownership (uncapped potential): We deeply value the individual contributor. Our top-performing AEs consistently earn more than their managers, backed by absolutely zero commission caps and access to company equity.
- #Simplicity & #Clarity (transparent compensation): No complex math required. Your variable compensation is directly aligned with business goals, with real-time visibility over your metrics so you always know exactly where you stand.
- #Inclusivity (teamwork meets territory): We carve out clear, fair territories so you can autonomously run your own book of business, backed by a highly collaborative global team.
- #Pride (a product that delivers): We build exceptional spend management products that actually solve the customer's pain points, making your pitching process smoother and more impactful.
- #ABC (an expanding arsenal): We never settle. Continuous platform innovation and new product launches mean you always have an ever-growing toolkit to cross-sell and hit your targets faster.
